A Fine Hike
My family and took the hike along the Ledges Trail that is considered the most strenuous in the park. It was challenging and a definite workout to get to the top. The vista is pleasant but the only significant view you get. A plus is that the trails are well marked, including the intersection of all trails. This helps prevent one’s getting lost. I also like how, on the long loop trail we took blue trail markers indicate one is moving away from the parking lot and yellow markers that one is headed back to the lot. That is an excellent innovation. Another plus is bathrooms and water available at the parking lot. Keep in mind there is a fee to hike the trails. It is $5 per adult and $3 per kid, not unreasonable.

Low key nature lovers rejoice
Walking the loop of one of the ponds at dusk, we saw wild beavers close enough to almost reach out and touch (not that we would of course!!!!) Probably amazing luck, but I'll take it. The highlight of our weekend in the Berkshires. It's a lovely, calm place.
