Fort Revere Park, Massachusetts, United States

4.0 (82 reviews) Spent Ranking #4 in Hull State Parks

Revolutionary!

This fort, which has magnificent views of the Atlantic Ocean and Boston Harbor, was an integral spot for watching for the enemy during the Revolutionary War. Fort Revere Tower is worth climbing the winding stairs to the top, you will never see views like this anywhere else. Kids love playing in the area, there are spots to have a picnic lunch and an amphitheater where movies and concerts take place throughout the summer. Well worth the out of the way drive to see it. It's about 3-4 miles from Nantasket Beach.

    Spectacular views of the harbor!
This lovely parkland in Hull, Massachusetts should be a definite on your 'things to do while visiting Hull' list. The views up here of Boston Harbor are spectacular! Several years ago I was there to watch the Tall ships come into the harbor and it was a great and unobstructed view. On this visit we went up to the fort on a clear sunny day, had a short walk around the ruins of the fort and had a picnic lunch with sandwhiches we had gotten from a place on Nantasket Ave (Mezza Mare) and just simply enjoyed the view. A nice place with some serious history, a great place to sit, reflect and enjoy the scenery.

    Defender of Boston Harbor
We bring all of our visitors to Fort Revere as it is interesting and played an important role in the defense of Boston harbor. The Fort overlooks the harbor islands and provides a spectacular view of the surrounding area. The massive fortifications are still intact and show how the defenders lived 100 years ago. Unfortunately much of the place is covered with graffiti and needs to be better maintained. The original water/watch tower is still there, but access has been prohibited for several years. Overall, the Fort is worth the trip and is free!
