HIking!!!

We had a wonderful time here. We came for the hiking wish we stayed for some swimming but it was very crowded on a 90+ degree saturday. We hiked the tri sate marker trail. We did and out and back because it was shorter than the loop and we had my 2 year old with me. The hike was still close to 5 miles and the 2 year old could not hang. My 9 year old however had absolutley no problem with this trail in fact she loved it. I would love to come back and do this trail again and also some other trails. I would also like to spend some time at the lake with the family!!!

    Relaxing Walk
We wanted a quiet and relaxing place to walk. We found it here at Douglas State Forest. The trails were clean. Benches were available for resting and listening to the birds. We will definitely be back

A good hike, a relaxing swim
Douglas State Park is full of hiking trails of all levels, from easy--like the Coffee House Loop and the Cedar Swamp Trail--to more difficult ones that can be found on the trail map. It also intersects the Midstate Hiking Trail. On the Cedar Swamp Trail, in particular, there are specific signs for wildlife and historical points. The Coffee House Loop also includes old stone walls and dams from colonial times. The down side is that there are a lot of insects, and they are particularly bad on humid days, so pack a variety of bug sprays. Once you're done hiking, take a dip in the clean and beautiful Wallum Lake. Besides swimming, grills, and plenty of picnic area, people can rent boats and jet skis for the deeper water. There are bathroom and changing facilities.
