Amazing location to view the work of the Lincoln statue in the Lincoln Memorial
Nothing terribly fancy here but a lovely location. If you have the slightest interest in the Daniel Chester French, the sculpture who did the Patriot and the statue of Lincoln in the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, DC, this is worth a trip. In August there was an outdoor exhibition of sculpture and I believe that is usually the case during summer months.

Learn about the Sculptor of the Lincoln Memorial
We had never heard of Chesterwood or its famous sculptor, Daniel French. But we had heard of The Lincoln Memorial! So when we read about this place, we thought we really ought to visit. And our visit did not disappoint. Do take a tour as it will help you understand more about Mr. French. You will see the different prototypes he used as he started his design for the Lincoln Memorial. Of course he designed hundreds of other things including the Minutman Memorial. You will be impressed with his studio.
