Brewster Gardens, Massachusetts, United States

4.5 (202 reviews) Spent Ranking #7 in Plymouth Gardens

WOW!

This is a truly beautiful place. A River runs directly through it, as the flowers sway in the breeze and families walk around talking as they watch their kids play in the green grass. You can hear the sound of trickling water as the ducks paddle with the river. As you walk down the path, you go under two bridges and see more flowers and waterfalls. And why not end the trip at the Mill resturaunt at the end of the path. Cannot be missed on a trip to plymouth!!

    Beautiful
Have wandered this little park twice and it feels as thought the history of the place is just on the other side of the veil. You can almost picture it before it was a garden. It's a quiet place not far from the bustle to sit and contemplate - and smell the flowers.

Nice, used to offer so much more....
The gardens were redone which is nice with the bridge going across the river which is where we actually had some of our wedding photographs taken. A beautiful spot for something of that nature as having the wedding party span the bridge is beautiful or for other occasions. with that being said that the front area gardens themselves are beautiful, on your walk to the grist mill you walk under overpass tunnels. Sometimes these tunnels can be marked with that of spray paint from teenagers.. from both pictures to words. Some of which you may not want to see especially if walking with your children. I will say the town does do a good job of trying to keep up with our youth that seems to have little to do but cause vandalism. However, years ago when I was a kid the Grist Mill was actually something to see and do. There were shops there, very nice ones in fact. There was an ice cream place and a place to eat and the pond across the way was flooded with Geese, Ducks and Swans.. now it looks like a run down pond. What a shame. With all the money Plymouth pulls in you would think they would do something constructive with it to venues like this, but they do not and have let it slip by the wayside... The walk is nice, the small stream is nice, the front part of the gardens that overlook the ocean is nice but it used to really be a spectacular place to visit. Those who are old enough to know the old Grist Mill area will know just what I am talking about.
