Great hike with family.
We arrived and parked at the NY side of the park. The trail is 3/4 mile to the waterfall. It is a relatively easy hike with a slight uphill incline as you approach the waterfall. There are some smaller rocks to be aware so you have to keep on eye on your feet so you don’t trip. I wouldn’t recommend this trail for a stroller. Our elementary age children walked the trail easily. There is beautiful scenery along the way with clear babbling waters along the path. You soon approach the border between NY and MA which is clearly marked. There are very clean(when we went) porta potties by the waterfall. There is a majestic overlook view that you can enjoy the falls without going down to the base of the falls. The steps down to approach the falls are quite steep and uneven so I wound not recommend for someone unsteady on their feet. There were many people at the base of the falls sitting on chosen rock areas enjoying a snack, fishing, napping. You will feel the gentle spray of mist from the falls if you are close enough. You feel nestled in a cozy rock out cove and it’s quite beautiful there. We visit many waterfalls and I would definitely recommend this one.

Great place, disrespectful people
No need to talk about the beauty of the falls, it’s just gorgeous. There are two parking lots, MA vs NY. From the MA side, it’s faster and “kind of easy” to go down to the falls (I was carrying an infant in chest harness) but was difficult to go back to the parking lot. From the NY side, it’s longer but easy walk, and you walk by the water which is nice. The sad thing about this place is the trashy, disrespectful people. They leave trash behind them, smoke hookah and cigarettes everywhere and play loud music. Unfortunately rules are not enforced. We came at around 8:30 which was nice and not so many people, but then after 9am it started to get out of control with more people than the place can handle. I would recommend going weekdays or very early in the AM, like 7 or so.
