hidden treasure
You're probably going to need your GPS to find this place. I've lived in Ma. approx 50 years and I never knew places like this exisited. The Bardswell Ferry Bridge is well hidden down a narrow, curvy country road. Conway is in hill country and is dotted with many small farms and also artisan type shops. I highly recommend wandering around on the back roads. The scenery, especially in foliage season, is spectacular. You feel like you're in a Currier and Ives painting. The bridge is the largest of it's kind in Ma. and is registered on the National list of Historic Places. It's one lane and you come upon it quickly. It's 198 ft. above the Deerfield River. The view down the river is awesome. It's not a covered bridge and I can't remember the type, but info is available online.

Tubing from here is one of Summer's Rite of Passage
During the warmest of the summer months, this is where summer revelers start their journey down the Deerfield River to Stillwater Bridge for a tubing adventure with little more than friends and festive beverages. Depending on how you hit it, the ride, powered only by the current itself, can take as long as three hours, or as little as an hour and a half. A rope swing invites you for one last hurrah near the end of the ride before getting into the car you left at that end.
