Wonderful tours with amazing guides and very friendly as well as knowledgeable staff!

I have taken kayak tours both on the Little Blackwater River and now on the Transquaking river and have had a magnificent time on every occasion. Frank is a wonderful guide pointing out wildlife and their stories with respect and love for these wonderful beings. All of the staff (including Jamie and Casey as well as Frank) have been wonderful and friendly to me taking time to explain the wilderness here and help to map out wonderful adventures. I highly recommend these tours to anyone who wants to experience this beautiful space nature has provided with wonderful guides!!!

Fun and relaxing time with the most friendly people around.
We did the 2 hour bike tour, lunch and then 2 hours of kayaking. It was really great. Susan was our guide for the bike portion. It was just my husband and I. She is amazing if I lived closer I would want to hang out with her all the time. We then had a boxed, deli sandwich lunch which was good. Mike was our guide for the kayak portion and he is just a really great guy. There were 2 other couples in our group and he did a great job of including and engaging everyone (which isn't always easy on the water). The weather was perfect and both guides had such a strong knowledge of the area and the environment within in. This business is family owned and by the end of the day I felt like they were all my family. I can't wait to bring my kids back to do more kayaking. I highly recommend finding something there you like from their many offerings and booking it.

Great Birthday experience
We booked the Blackwater adventure Trail to Freedom tour and we had the wonderful Ms Susan(owner)as our tour guide. She was so warm, friendly and professional with us.She gave us a background on how she and her husband started up the company and was so well knowledgeable about the history of Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad.Even as a black couple on the tour we learned so much from her and felt her genuine passion for what she was doing.We felt that it became a part of her. The scenery on the tour was definitely country with lots of corn fields etc she was so informative and engaging you really didn't feel tired on the ride.Tip(if you haven't been riding in a long while wear padded pants). Susan took us into the town where we visited an old goods store in its original state with original goods and vintage items. Overall the tour was very educational and enjoyable. We'll definitely have to bring the family and kids next time. Also do some kayaking on the Blackwater River. Thanks Susan for your Love and dedication to continuing to uphold the legacy and life of Harriet Tubman,the Underground Railroad and all people of that time. Will definitely return and recommend Blackwater Adventures Cambridge MD to others.
