Worth a special trip!
Annapolis bills itself as a museum without walls, and after spending an afternoon here, I can see why. This was the first peacetime capital of the new U.S and has the highest concentration of 18th century Georgian-style buildings in the country. Some of the shops are in buildings that are over 200 years old. The waterfront, the museum, the Maryland State House, the Cathedral... Plan to spend a day here.

Beautiful area, lots to see and do!
Annapolis is one of my favorite cities. Lots of history, so many places to stop and shop, have a drink or a bite. West Street is probably my favorite area to park and walk, usually less crowded than dockside. Most nights at least one of the bars will have live music of some kind. Down at dockside, more people, especially on weekends. Middleton's has a piano bar upstairs, always packed and fun.

Condensed history in a charming atmosphere
We stayed in an Air B and B in the heart of the historic district and the only thing that kept it from being a five star experience was the parking problems in the historic part of the city. So much we wanted to see and do that we could not due to my husband's mobility challenges. Due to rough walkways and streets (much uneven brick and cobble stone) there were serious limits to where his wheelchair could go.
