Lambert's Cove Beach, Massachusetts, United States

A surprise at the end of a nice walk

Getting to this beach is a challenge. First you need a pass from the town of West Tisbury. Then you need find parking. If you can't get into the lot then you need to use the "walk on" pass. Once parked you have a 5 minute walk through the forest to the bottom of a sand dune. But at the top of the dune there is a gorgrous white sand beach rimmed by tall sand dunes, cliffs, Vineyard Sound and in the distance the Elizabethan islands of Cuttyhunk, Naushawena, Pasque and Naushon islands. The beach is rarely crowded and the reason is; the previously stated impediments to the hordes of Vineyard visitors. You have to work for your privacy, jump through some hoops, get there at the right time and haul your stuff down the path and over the dunes but one there; bliss. Pets only allowed in 7-10am IF you can get parking then

Unexpected Beautiful Beach with Pristine Sand
We have been coming to MV for years and have been to our share of beaches. This was our first time visiting West Tisbury and staying on Lambert’s Cove Road. This beach, only for residents and renters was a pleasant escape from the ordinary over crowded noisy beaches we had been to in the past. We had to register for a parking pass before entering, yes $50 for a season pass was worth it since our family members stay additional weeks throughout the summer. The only con is parking, there are only 25 parking spots in the lot and 10 on the street near the beach thus, a real challenge for the more than 1,100 parking passes purchased this season. I’d suggest getting there early, the parking sticker requirement gets enforced starting at 10am. Oh, don’t even think about asking for multiple parking passes for the same home, one pass per home and for visitors you have to show a copy of your lease within Tisbury to be allowed to purchase a walk on or parking pass. Well worth the challenge of parking. The beach is clean, sand is deep and pristine with limited shells and plenty of collectible smooth rocks. Enjoy!!!

I couldn't wait to come back...
It's only been a couple of weeks, but I couldn't wait to go back to the inn with my husband to enjoy everything this special place has to offer. From the flower gardens, to the alpacas and chicken farm, to the outdoor heated pool and evening fire...it was an incredibly relaxing weekend. The Lambert’s Cove beach is a short distance from the inn and you don’t have to look any further, there is no finer beach on the island. The inn is newly renovated and the bedrooms are cozy and meticulously appointed. The only time we left the property was to do a little sightseeing but we couldn’t wait to get back. The staff was so accommodating and very attentive to all our needs that we hated to leave.
