    The History of Banda
    A small museum showcasing the history of Banda Neira. Not kept up very well, but one doesn't expect much in such a remote location.

    Museum of really cool stuff with English labels
    Rumah usually means guest house but this is a little museum about the Banda islands. Mita Alwi, current manager of the Maulana Hotel, told me the contents, a fascinating collection, were all collected by her grandfather, Des Alwi. It's a bit dusty but very interesting and include a items I haven't seen anywhere else, such as the bells that rang to tell the nutmeg workers when to start and stop work. And explanations in English are provided for most things! Opening hours a bit irregular. One of the few places that sells postcards.
