Pasir Panjang Beach, Maluku Islands, Indonesia

4.5 (31 reviews) Spent Ranking #2 in Maluku Beaches

A fantastic beach. Clearly among the five best in Southeast Asia. Some have called the feeling and look of the sand as baby powder - my frist impression was like corn flower. The second good thing is that the local clear up the plastic garbage which sorrowly are destroying a lot of the other great beaches and snorkelling sites in Indonesia.

The best and worst points of Pasir Panjang
Surely among the best beaches in the world. The sand here is very white and thin almost like flour. The water is always very calm like in a lake. It is also crystal clear. Giving the sea so many different colors around blue and green. The landscape is world-class beach postcard with the great coconut trees hovering the small huts on the beach. People are warm here it seems easy to talk to them except they don't speak English. The food is delicious. Made of fresh fish of the day with great veggies and sauces. Eggplant lovers don't miss the sunset diner at Evelyn cottage. The tropical weather brings a bit of rain everyday but that's welcome. You can get a local speed boat for 1m Rp for the day. Just make sure you got water and food with you for the entire day. The beautifull islands around are uninhabited. Now the worse. - 3g works Only on telkomsel but from time to time. The signal is not strong enough for Internet. - no good infrastructure. there is big road coming from airport and town but inside the village that's still old one. - no resort style service like massage / spa or game like billiard ping pong etc - no nightlife at all. Once the sun is fully down life basically stops. We enjoyed our stay at pasir panjang. It will be remembered as one our trip to islands. Just get ready with offline video, good books or even board games for night time. Local language name this beach Nguyen Bloat.
