Diving with Kei Pirate Divers
10 dives with these guys. Eva and Jan are a German couple with many years dive experience around Indonesia. They run a well organised dive business in a laid back location, A great team with good equipment. Some great dive locations 5 - 20 minutes by boat from the beach. Their team does the hard work with equipment for you. Dive time are subject to tide for getting the boat in and out over the reef. Aside from diving, the beach where they are located is a beautiful long very white palm tree fringed coral sand beach a great place to chill, but don't expect a large selection of places to eat, this place is not exactly on the main tourist routes!

Love Diving? Want to Explore? Key Pirate Divers is for you!
Diving in this island is really for those wanting to explore and ready for surprises! I came in with no expectation what I can find. Guess what... I got fantastic diving experience! The corals in Kei is so rich and various. The sites offers both bigger animals (tunas, turtles, napoleons...) and tiny ones (I saw the biggest nudi ever here!)... the obvious ones (schooling mackerel) and hard to spot ones (stone/frogfishes, crocodile flathead fish). Best of all, ocean condition permits, Eva and Janosch bring divers to exploration dives. Really... diving where no divers has dived before... now thats priceless. The thrill in itself is exciting! During my visit, it was transition season (from dry to rainy season), therefore sea condition is rather unpredictable. However, Eva has given me plenty of heads up on the condition and I came in knowing, like every other sports done outdoor in nature, is under the mercy of mother ocean. Eva and Janosch really put safety first, first, first. The staff: Edo and captain Gabriel were super helpful and friendly as well. Even though I dont do 3 dives a day or any night dives, there is still plenty to enjoy in the island. in fact, my 2 dives a day schedule fits me just right. unlike with more 'mainstream' dive centres, you are not going to get cookie cutter experience here (day 1: fish X, day 2: seahorse Y...), expect the unexpected instead. in a nutshell, love diving? want to explore? Best Diving this Side of Indonesia
Just visited these guys for the second time on our latest trip to Indonesia, still a great little set-up (with a new office etc now) and fun dive team. The German couple that own the dive shop are super friendly, experienced and knowledgable. The dives sites here are beautiful and the beach too. Don't let the remoteness put you off, the journey is well worth the travel and this is about as 'untouched' as Indonesian diving gets. Book your trip quickly to experience it!
