Hatta Island, Maluku Islands, Indonesia

5.0 (19 reviews) Spent Ranking #1 in Banda Islands Islands

Otherworldly Beautiful

Took a couple day trips here to dive off shore and relax on the beach. Visitors can look forward to pristine sands, clear blue waters, and plenty of pelagics. Fantastic place for a snorkel, a dive or a sunbathe.

    Magic Blue
After a day trip from Bandanaira, with marvellous snorkeling we decided to stay for 9 days on Hatta. Luckily it was very quiet, just 1- 5 other tourists so we had the whole beach and reef to ourselves. Incredible clear deep blue water, healthy corals, lots of small and big (Napoleon) fish, turtles and pilot whales. Everyday we snorkelled for many hours and we never got tired of this magical fantastic underwaterworld. Facilities are basic, simple huts and rooms on the beach, electricity only between 18.00-22.00 hrs, meals provided by the homestay. We stayed in 2 different homestays, one with a terrible hot room and fantastic food and one with a fantastic room right on the beach but with terrible food. We snorkelled in many places around the world, also in Raja Ampat, but to us Pulau Hatta was the absolute nr. 1. If you like snorkelling: Highly recommended!!

    Beautiful Island and shoreline
Took a boat trip with divers from The Nutmeg Tree. Takes about 1 hour to reach, maybe slightly less. Tend not to look at your watch much when here! We dropped non-divers on the beach to go and explore the village close by. We dived just off-shore, saw a rich variety diving alongside the wall that drops off steeply. Apparently the snorkeling was good also. Lunch, drink and a Maluku sing song on the beach (optional), before heading back. Escorted part of the way back by a pod of dolphins. Fantastic destination. It is also possible to stay overnight here, in basic no frills accommodation - bed, toilet, shower, balcony......don't need anything else here!
