most amazing experience ever!!!

anyone who goes Santa Marta, must take this trip to quebrada Valencia Buritaca. the walk through the river and the scenario is just amazing. you have the option to hire a horse but i prefer the walk. i advice to go all the way to the top, last quebrada is the biggest and deepest. you can even jump into the water from a relatively high spot. very scary but good experience.

The walk is worth it for the waterfall
I wish I had known that we were going to walk almost a mile and trudge through five streams of water to reach this lovely waterfall in the middle of a rainforest. Maybe I would have worn aqua shoes instead of tennis shoes. The falls are beautiful and if you are agile enough you could hike them also. I chose to stay in the cool pond at the bottom. Make sure you bring water and big spray because it's hot, humid and full of hungry mosquitoes that bite!

    Nice place to cool off
We went to Quebrada Valencia based on other reviews. It is a nice place but it did not have much water...it was worth seeing though, because it is like a formation of rocks that goes all the way up the mountain...(or comes all the way down?? lol your choice) anyways...it takes about 30 minustes to get there from the main road...this can be done probably in 1-2 hours max so that you can enjoy other activities :)
