Awesome

Besides the weather been a little cold and my teen age getting seasick we had a blast. We were on the 5 hour trip. The whole crew were spot on we the captain putting us on the fish and John boy showing us how to hook our shrimp and grabbing the fish of the hook. Over all it was a great experience and would recommend it to anyone and will definitely do it again in warmer weather. A Big thank to Hubbards Marina and the crew. Me the Martinez family.

    Professional crew, Great Trip!
Fishing the 8-23-22 39 hour trip. The crew ran a great operation. The fishing was a bit slow, but Captain Garret worked like crazy to get us on fish. Hot humid weather slowed the fishing during the day. The other anglers were real friendly and helpful, answering any questions and giving tips. If you want a long range, big fish potential trip I highly recommend Hubbard's. Watch all the videos from their website on rigging, and planning your trip. They were very helpful and fun to watch. Got your blood pumping for the trip. A special thanks to the Sunday night fishing show and Captain Dylan for the free trip I won watching the show!

Gorgeous island, poor line management at the pier
If it weren't for a few significant (to me) details, I'd be raving. So, I'll give you the raves first. We took the shuttle to Egnot Key and it was magnificent. The beaches are isolated and gorgeous, the foliage so very lovely, and there are wonderful walking paths, all things that matter to me. We had a lovely day walking on the beach, reading, and even got to see a tortoise up close. The shuttle ran on time, the hosts were informative and snacks were available for purchase. My gripes? Let me describe what I think the website should say and how I think they should inform you when you arrive and are standing around in a cluster- "There are 45 seats on the boat (I made up that number. I don't really know how many seats there are). We only take reservations up to that number. We board those with reservations first. If there are any other available seats, we sell them same day at the dock. There will be a separate line for same day ticket buyers. Arrive 30 minutes early to ensure that your reservation will be honored". I used to work for a film festival and we always heard "an informed line is a happy line. " What they actually say, both on the website and in their reservation confirmation email "Thanks for booking your Egmont key ferry ride! The boat will depart promptly so we ask that you please arrive 45 minutes to an hour prior to your departure time. This will allow us ample time to get you checked in at the booth at Fort De Soto's bay pier and ensure you are able to get your reserved spot. This is a ferry service so once the boat is full it will leave and return to the beach to take a second load, this is why we recommend you show up 45-60 minutes early to the bay pier at Fort De Soto." This makes it sound like your reservation is not ensured, and that you could be put on a second load, which would mean waiting another hour, after already being there an hour ahead. At the pier, you wait in a cluster for 45-60 minutes to board, with no way of knowing how many seats there are (you can't easily tell by looking), how they decide who gets on first, who has reservations and who doesn't, and no one interacts with the line until time to board. It makes for an unnecessarily uncertain hour and significantly impacted my experience, even though we did get a seat in the end. It would be so easy to fix.
