Highlight of our trip!
We loved our time at Luckenbach in the bar attached to the General Store. There were 6 musicians who played for several hours and we loved every minute. There were 5 guitarists and one man who played harmonicas. He had a case with about 10 or more harmonicas. Amazingly talented group. Most had never seen much less played with each other. One of them would take the lead on a song and the others would musically add to the song as they watched and listened for the style and key. After a while the bar tender/owner guy took out a harmonica as well so we had dueling harmonicas for a while. My partner made a request for a lesser known Willie Nelson song that had a special meaning to him. One of the guitar players knew it and did a great job singing and playing it. Brought tears to our eyes. Great evening.

Exactly What We Wanted!
I had seen this little place on a PBS travel show and just had to put it on my 'must see' list while we were in Fredericksburg. Soooo glad I did. It was exactly what it says it is ... general store, post office, snack stand and a place where people gather to listen to music. Simple. Unpretentious. Welcoming. We ordered drinks at the bar and hung out for the afternoon.
