Schlossmuseum, Lower Saxony, Germany
4.5 (68 reviews) Spent 1-2 hours Ranking #1 in Jever Speciality Museums
castle, achive, park and staff worth the time
This castle isn´t the biggest, most beautiful, oldest or architectural most impressive, but it has charm, a snuggly park with lots of free running peacocks & ducks adjacent to the river around the castle. The archive is well taken care of and interesting, the staff is great.

Worth to visit
Such beautiful castles as this one are not common this far north in Germany or in this region. The architecture, with some Russian influence, is beautiful. The inner museum and tower a plus to visit while being in Jever. The history itself is most interesting and the rooms that can be visited well kept and a sample of the days back when rules used to live here. Enjoy

Worth Visiting the Museum
There is not a ton to do in Jever, but I do recommend going to the castle, especially visiting the museum. The entrance fee was fairly cheap and we spent over an hour at the museum. There were a lot of interesting exhibits here to include archaeology from the area. I recommend going into the center tower, there were stairs involved, but very doable. After visiting the museum, make sure to walk within the park grounds. You get great views of the castle and get to enjoy nature.
