Museum Schwedenspeicher, Lower Saxony, Germany

DaVinci and more

The museum Schwedenspeicher can easily compete with the bigger museums in Hamburg and co. I have seen several exhibitions here and the latest on is the DaVinci exhibition which is well worth a visit. Located at the Fishmarket in Stade, you are in the middle of everything and after the exhibition you are spoilt for choice at the numerous cafes, restaurants and bars.

Neat little museum on the region
Worth a visit for few rainy hours. Museum has on three floors quite a few exibits on the regional history and development. Interesting that they display the exibits they have found in the historic harbour just outside the door. Check on special exihibitions they have from time to time. Some areas are specially for children (videos, sailship loading and transport, ancient tents and some drilling tooling to try out and explore). Unfortunately no English language explanations. Additional hint: After having done your cultural duties you are entiteled to some great coffee and cake, e.g. in the "Goebencafe" just a few steps away at the historic harbour.

    Nice and modern
I really enjoyed my time at this museum. I was taken there by my cousins and we had a really great time there is a ton of interactive things and very nicely laid out. The whole interior looks new and is very modern. Although you need to read German in order to understand anything.
