Münchhausen-Museum, Lower Saxony, Germany

Wonderfull place, very friendly staff
If a book of Baron von Münchhausen's stories was one from your childhood do not miss this museum and Bodenwerder. Russian tourists can particularly enjoy, because Oleg Yankovsky's features (actor who played Baron in the famous film 1979) seem to be depicted in a couple of recent Baron's sculptures.

Fun
A fun little town and museum that explores the fascinating life and wacky stories of Baron Munchhausen. The grounds feature statues depicting scenes from some of the Baron's most famous stories and the museum contains interesting collectibles and memorabilia of his life and legacy. One of the caretakers of the museum speaks English incredibly well and can give a guided tour in English. Fun for the whole family, but no need to spend more than an hour.

Great little museum exploring the fiction and reality of Baron Munchhausen
This museum is just a few yards from the Baron's birthplace and explores his life and the tales he told and were published about him. The staff are very friendly but have limited English. The introductory video is available in English and there is a good leaflet about his life and explaining the display cabinets also in English. There are several models relating to his stories. The upper floor is a bit of a local history musuem with interesting artefacts of the area.
