Very enjoyable
I enjoyed very much my time spent at Maschsee although weather was not the best for outdoor activities. It is an artificial lake in a walking distance from the city center, suitable for all possible free time activities. It was built in 30th last century and one can identify sign of it. Especially the colummn with Olympic torch runner on its top takes a breath away and scare a bit at the other hand knowing in what intention such monuments were built and what followed. Anyway it makes this place not only recreation area but also historical place worth a more research.

Breathtaking!
Hard to believe this is a man made lake in the middle of the city. It's worth seeing any time of the year and a good place to go for a run.

Delightful lake in Hannover
Maschsee is an artificial lake on the outskirts of Central Hannover, the stretch of water is surrounded by restaurants and bars and pleasant areas to sit and relax. On the day of our visit which was a cold day in December the whole area was alive with people jogging, roller-blading and walking around the lake. It is hard to believe that the lake is in the middle of a bustling city. Definitely worth another visit, probably in summer next time.
