historic silver mine in Sankt Andreasberg

We had a very interesting self-guided tour due to pandemic limitations. Very fascinating place indeed. It played the significant part in the history of mining in the Harz region. Especially fascinating is the man engine the system of reciprocating ladders. It is one of the oldest man engines in the world and still working!

    unique
Great museum to experience the history of mining in the Harz region, which was trailblazing for mining worldwide. Make sure you go on the guided tour to see unique surviving technology and take a trip into the mountain itself.
