Saucy!
Tourists here will learn the whole history of the sauce as well as the McIlhenny family who made it famous. The entire process of making the sauce from growing peppers to preparing the barrels is on display and a pleasant walk. Then have lunch on-site at the Cafe, before enjoying the gardens one of the former company presidents was so passionate about. Plus you can pick up plenty of Tabasco sauces in the gift shop that may not be available back home!

Hot Sauce, History and Nature
Very interesting museum of the family business history and observation points of the fascinating process of making tabasco sauce. Even if you are not a big fan of the sauce, its worth a visit. The self guided tour also includes admission into the Avery Island Jungle gardens.

Definitely worth a visit
We went on the Tabasco factory self guided tour as well as a drive through the jungle gardens. The factory tour, even thought self guided, was a wow. We thoroughly enjoyed every part of the tour- it was interesting, informative and had a great historical background. It got more interesting as we moved along and probably spent three full hours understanding the history and process. We highly recommend In regards to the jungle gardens, I thought it was a 4/5 but my wife gave it a 5/5. We saw alligators, some nice points of interest, bird city, etc and probably spent two hours on the drive through since we stopped at each point of interest on the map. Definitely a must do when in Louisiana.
