A very cool historic cemetery.

The burial site for many of the people who lived in the mansions of the surrounding Garden District.

    Amazing History
This is a fantastic stop if you want to see a classic New Orleans cemetery and read some great graveside history. There is no charge to get in, and while there were a good amount of people there when we stopped, it wasn't too crowded. There are people at the entrance who offer to give tours if you don't just want to look around on your own.

Great historic cemetery, but you cannot get in right now
We stopped by while in the Garden District, and we were hoping to get a tour. It turns out that paid access to the cemetery is going to be the only way in for the future, but the graves were being repaired from damage coming from public access. You can see the little paths and walkways through the locked gates, and many tours still meet there but discuss the cemetery from the gate only.
