    Day or night water fun.
You can order food from riverbank restaurants at a very modest price. Obviously sunset is an ideal time to go. I went as part of an improvised tour including a bat's cave, a temple with peacocks, fields of sun flowers and a famous temple with Buddha's footprint. Some of the larger restaurants around the lake have live music. I will revisit this place to explore further.

    Simple, fun, cheap
Ang Sub Lek is a great place to spend an afternoon. Start at the Peacock Temple (short walk up about 400 stairs - it's worth the view. Then head over to one of the many floating restaurants on the lake. No English menus so have an idea of what you want ahead of time. Also ask about the price ahead of time. And don't forget your bathing suit. The water looks a bit brownish but I have swam in it many times with no problems. Finish off the day with a trip to the near by temple (on the mountainside, you can see it from the lake) to watch the bats come streaming out at about 6:10 p.m. It is amazing!
