Some surreal history with amazing views
I recommend going to the NP office before you enter the park to get a feel of the history behind this mountain and here the story of the great battle that took place here. There is an excellent painted mural on the wall in the NP office as well to look at while you listening to the narrative story of Battle of Lookout Mt. It kinda gives you a different feeling when you go walk these trails and see the Cannons pointing at the valleys below while enjoying the views.

    Well worth a visit
Having visited on past visits Rock City and Ruby Falls, we decided to visit Point Park on our latest trip. Make your first stop the visitor center which is just across from the entrance. There is parking located in the rear. In the center, you will find a gift shop and a small museum. The most outstanding feature is the huge painting 13’x30’ of the Battle Above the Clouds. Afterward cross the road to the entrance to Point Park which is quite impressive. There is a fee to enter the park but if you have a National Park pass it is free. Walk to the New York monument and view the city of Chattanooga from the heights.
