Beautiful park with nice trails!

My husband and I stopped here for a walk and really enjoyed it. We liked how the paths led to viewing spots to see the bay and we got to see quite a few fish and a couple of crabs as well on our walk. It was evening time in August & we didn’t feel too hot, which was a plus!

Wheelchair accessible paths through the mangroves
We loved the paths of this park. In my wheelchair, I was able to maneuver the crushed shell paths almost independently (there were small hills leading to certain bridges that I had to have a push to get up). And I loved zooming along the boardwalks and bridges. You can pick up a map at the parking lot or playground. We went to both water-view lookouts and the looped back to the parking lot. The next time we visit, I'd like to check out the part of the park we missed "the uplands." I recommend 45 minutes to see the park. This park gives you a good sense of what the island would look like if it wasn't developed. I'd give this park 5 stars if the playground had a wheelchair accessible material. The sand makes it impossible for anyone using a wheelchair to get close to the play structures.

Local park/bay walk on Longboat Key
We enjoyed discovering & walking this local park/mangrove area during our Longboat Key vacation. It is well-maintained with paths, restrooms, signage and gazebo seating/benches. Located mid-island near Harry’s on the Sarasota bayside, your walk begins in the park and then the paths lead to mangrove areas with several lookout points into Sarasota bay. There is parking and a playground for children. Recommended as a stop and/or beach walk alternative.
