    Fun on the South Side
Unlike the sites on the north side of Little Cayman which can generally be used for both shallow and deep profiles, the south side has distinct shallow and deep sites. The wall at the deep sites starts around 60 feet and is not as stunning as Bloody Bay but beautiful in its own way. The shallow sites feature fingers of coral jutting out perpendicular to the island, with sandy areas in between. This gives you the opportunity to see reef life as well as garden eels, rays and other creatures that live in the sand. There seem to be more different species of juvenile fish on the south side. Some of the best sites are the Soto Trader, Pirates Point Reef, Gay's Reef, Dynamite Drop, Grundy's Garden and Wind Sock.

    Pleasant Surprise
Because of the rough water on the north side of the island, we weren't able to dive the Bloody Bay Wall. Instead we dove on the south side. I was very pleasantly surprised. The topography underwater on one of the dives was like mountains rising out of the sand. It was very awesome. The fish life was abundant and so was the coral. There were some spots with lots of juvenile fish, and that was a treat to see. It was like a nursery for fish. I saw a few too many lionfish there, but hopefully the dive guides will get out and try to get these before they cause too much damage.
