Extremely well perserved Submarine!

Myself and a few co-workers visited this submarine. As an ex-USN Submariner the guides / crew made me feel at home, ringing the Kaxton (dive alarm) and letting us use the periscopes. What a day! This American sub proundly served the navy in Peru for over 50 years! It is a national treasure! I wish we had subs as well taken care of!

Navy lovers, family with kids and tenns
My daughter's dad, who is a officer in the Peruvian Navy bring us here for a tour, this was a fun activity recommended for all ages , just READ this, you have to enter a real submarine, so people with mobility issues, or claustrophobic, will not be able to make it. This submarine belongs to the Peruvian Navy, now retired and is a museum, it was decommissioned in 1998,is now open to the public, entrance is a small fee. We were a family with a kid elementary school ages and 2 high schoolers, and everybody enjoy it.

    Unique opportunity for Submariners
One of the most interesting tours in my 35 yrs. of visiting Peru. Absolutely unique opportunity to see inside a modern (decommissioned 2000 A.D.) full size submarine. The tour is conducted in Spanish, so foreigners must go with someone who can translate. You MUST PHONE ahead as the tour is cancelled if there is an "ocean swell". Calleo is a dangerous area, so appropriate precautions must be observed. In spite of all of the above, this tour is well worth it for "submariners".
