    An excellent art museum
The MALI museum is not as dazzling as the Museo Larco, but nevertheless warrants an excellent rating. The galleries are arranged chronologically, starting with extensive displays from the pre-Columbian and Colonial eras, continuing into the Republican Period and then with a limited display of contemporary Peruvian art. Every piece is labeled in English with well-written commentaries that assist greatly with understanding its significance. Admission was only 15 soles (about $4.50). The staff was very helpful in calling us a taxi for our return to the hotel. The MALI museum compliments Museo Larco; try to see both.

Short but concise history of Peruvian art
The second floor of the museums provides a concise collection of Peruvian art. It guides you through the different epoches with information both in English and Spanish. You can also download the app (there is free WiFi) which is user friendly and provides short and interesting description of different pieces.
