Puente de los Suspiros

Every year we go to Perú, we take a Combie (Van Bus) to Barranco and visit el Puente de los Suspiros, which is a mayor attraction, and walk downn to the beach, and this is fun. Sometines, we eat al La Cerverceria, Canta Rana, Isolina, Restaurante de Juan, or other, and there are many good restaurants in Barranco. I certainly recommend you to take a combie for US$0.50 and take the local transportation to see the beatiful city of Barranco, if you don't know, where to take the combie to Barranco, ask anyone and they will tell you,

A different artistic and bohemian experience!
Barranco is a very popular neighborhood in Lima and many tourists love it! It is close to the ocean with beautiful and colonial buildings; however I don't recommend going to the beach. It is not very nice, full of people and the sand is dark and full of rocks. What I recommend to enjoy Barranco is going to the museums there and go sightseeing and discover the old architecture and the artisans and artists you can see in the Parque Municipal and the different fairs that are open during the weekends where you can find treasures. The nightlife in Barranco is bohemian as well as popular, you can choose among bars, pubs or restaurants in which all kind of music is played for all tastes. I really recommend Barranco for its special flavor during fall and spring,

    Nice atmosphere
very arty and full of old buildings but access to beach is not easy or safe apparently so the hotel staff told us! Some lovely restaurants we went too. We took a coastal cliff path walk to Miraflores, this is a disappointment, so sanitised and full of wealthy obnoxious people compared to the ones we had met in the other parts of Peru we visited. Shopping malls with western shops at western prices!
