Great place to take young kids
This 295 acre park is actually a collection of four attractions: Tiger Park, Singing Birds Woods, Tiger Square and an Aquarium.

It was good place to stay - beautiful and intresting for children. Amusing and well desined. There are a lot of places to see, great sights.

Combine Laohutan and Bang Chui Dao in a day trip
Laohutan Scenic Park is really a theme park with an entrance fee of 220 renminbi . I chose not to go inside, instead walked down to the harbour and the tiger monument. It was worth a stroll but not the most interesting or scenic place I visited in Dalian. I'm sure the theme park would be a great place for a family day out, if rather expensive even by British standards. However if you are a single traveller and go to Lahutan by bus you can then take a taxi to Bang Chui Dao scenic area. Be sure to ask the taxi driver to use the meter ( " Qing yong biao"). The entrance fee to Bang Chui Dao area is 20 yuan, it is a lovely place to spend a few hours, continue walking until you reach the shingle beach. Return by taxi to Laohutan and then catch the bus back to the centre of Dalian ( cheapest way) or directly back to Dalian centre.
