Grand Black Mountain of Dalian, Liaoning, China

4.5 (112 reviews) Wednesday: 12:00 AM - 11:59 PM Spent Ranking #11 in Dalian Mountains

Great Destination

It is my favourite place to go in Dalian area. There are two most common ways to get to the top. One is to take stairs to the temple, second is to take a road from the village few hundred metres further up the road Both cost 10yuan for car park and both cost 20yuan at the gate. However, the stairs close after 6pm while the road becomes free of charge in the night. You cannot drive to the top without permission. The views from top are amazing and you can see both Bohai Sea and Yellow sea. It takes about 1h45min to get to the top. The views especially during night are amazing.

    Big Monk Mountain
The biggest mountain in the area is called Monk Mountain or Big Monk Mountain as well as Black Mountain, Big Black Mountain, or Grand Black Mountain. There are great views of this impressive mountain from the train to KaiFaQu Station. The mountain is a fifteen minute drive from there. It's called Monk Mountain as there are several Taoist and Buddhist temples on the mountain. The temples are ancient but still functioning. One is built around a waterfall. Stone stairways lead to these historic places and they say the walk or climb is spiritually cleansing. It's not promoted as a major tourist attraction but the people who live here know it well.

    Beautiful Scenic Area
You can come here by light train no 3 from Dalian Railway Station.....get down at development zone. From there you need to hire a cab(including return) to reach at DaHeiShan.....best time to visit is Jun-Aug....because there are lot of Cherry garden nearby....entry to cherry garden 20-30 RMB including eating as much as you can...?...there are also many temples on the mountain.....
