Wear some good walking shoes - this is a BIG zoo!

There are so many different animals and their enclosures are awesome! Of course the Panda exhibit is always very crowded. Bring good walking shoes. This day I walked over 10 miles just in the zoo alone and I'm not sure I saw everything. Plan for a full day. This is not a quick excursion. You want to see it all because it's awesome.

    Amazing Experience!
Dalian Forest Zoo is a must see for anyone coming to Dalian. It's a nice zoo with a good variety of animals. The zoo is very spread out so expect to do quite a bit of walking. They have a trolley you can purchase a ticket for(I think 15-30rmb) and it allows you to visit three stops. The first stop was zebra's, giraffes, and ostriches. The most amazing part about this zoo is that you can touch many of the animals. We were able to pet and feed the zebra's and giraffes. We also feed the ostriches, but tried not to get to close. You can purchase carrots to feed the animals inside the park, or from sellers outside the park. We got 5 baggies of carrots for roughly 10rmb from a lady outside the gate. The second stop is the llama area. Llama's are freely walking around with people. You can take pictures, pet the llamas, and feed them. You can also see mini horses, goats, and camels in this area. We walked ahead a little bit to see some Rhinos before heading back to catch the next trolley. The last stop was to see emu's and kangaroos. You have the opportunity to buy feed to feed to the kangaroos. The kangaroos are mostly afraid of humans so if you buy a cup, you'll most likely end up feeding it to the emus. Next you can walk down a long path to see lions, and tigers, and bears. Oh my! You can purchase fruit and other food to feed to the bears. They will do tricks for treats. They are working on the tigers cage, so they were moved into a smaller area. You are able to feed the tigers at this zoo. You can purchase raw chicken or live chickens(10rmb for raw/100rmb for live) to throw over the fence to the tigers. Past the tigers there were elephants and wolves. The zoo also has a very neat panda pavillion. Nothing was cooler than getting to see real pandas up close. This zoo had three pandas, and dozens of red panda's. The zoo also has several different types of primates that you can see. You can throw food from a platform into the primate area. Overall, the zoo is an amazing experience. Getting to see animals up close is not something that many people get to do. For only 120rmb, you need to see this zoo if you have the opportunity.

    Touch and Feed The Animal
The zoo has two entrance gate and it is connecting by cable car. The South Part (Safari Park) is more clean and has more animals than the East Part ( Stable Breeding Park). The entrance fee is 120 yuan, children under 120 cm is free. Inside the zoo there is an electric car for 20yuan/person. If you have enough time and energy, I thinks it's better to walk and enjoy your time. We can feed the animal by giving the food that we can buy inside the zoo. It is not allowed to give animal food that we bring, but many people did that :( Opening hours in summer is 08.30-17.00
