A beautiful place

This place is absolutely stunning! The biggest area-wise lake in Latvia with crystal clear water! Perfect for swimming, fishing, boat sailing, simply enjoying the sunset, meditating and reconnecting with nature.

    One of the largest lakes in Latvia
    This is a great lake for tourism and recreation It has lot's of recreational facilities and cottages/guest houses surrounding it. There is also a road right on the shores of the lake so you can cruise by and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Next to the lake there are a few of the highest local mountains (Makonkalns, Lielais Liepu kalns) with viewing terrace or a watch-tower to have a nice view over the area. The area is so beautiful you're gonna want to come back.

    Visit in May a Prelude to a Summer...by the Lake...
    Just off the front of our guest house, in the dark when we came for the party, is a large lake and anyone there could see what a place of joy that would be for families with children, imagining the latter building sand castles, trying their gifted spades, and pails, and the rest of us enjoying all the pleasures of the sea side - reading, sailing, rowing, swimming, having brought hot coffee in thermoses - or as in the case a guest house with all that's needed for a good hot meal or a cold beet soup:).
