Wonderful place to visit

This place is great to visit. The park is 26 acres on the Intracoastal with a nice walking trail. On entering the park we viewed the pond with a large amount of turtles sunning themselves. Along the trail near the indoor nature center we enjoyed all the beautiful birds of prey in cages. The indoor center had souvenirs, food for purchase to feed the turtles, several reptiles & the cutest screech owls hanging out in the open. The nature center is free to enter but we donated specifically to feed the owls. We walked the entire trail with one of the boardwalks ending at the intracoastal with great views. The trail was beautifully shaded by all the foliage. There were several covered picnic tables & benches to enjoy a snack along the way.

    Perfect for kids birthday parties!
We just hosted our daughter's 3rd birthday here and I seriously cannot say enough great things about the entire experience. The room rental was extremely affordable, especially for a large room that easily fit our 40 person party. They included a free "animal show" and brought in 2 hawks, an owl, and a tortoise for the kids to view up close (they were even allowed to pet the sweet tortoise which they were thrilled about). There is so much to do and it worked out well for our party because we had 15 kids ranging in age from 18 months to 8 years old. The kids spent time at the unique playground, walked out to the intercoastal on the boardwalk, viewed the rescued animals, fed the turtles in the pond, watched the animal show, and then we convened for cake and pizza in the room. Every one of the parents told us how much they enjoyed this unique type of party and how this nature center is a hidden gem. I'd definitely recommend to anyone looking for an affordable and action packed nature birthday! The staff was also incredibly nice and accommodating. Overall an excellent experience!

Good walking trails to get a good morning walk.
I found it by looking for birding trail. The raptors had their own names and a history of their injury hence staying there with food and safety. There were hoot owls outside cages. Their camouflage feathers made you think they were not alive. But they are. Donation slips for $.50 allows kids to buy food for the birds and retiles. The slips with your name on it is tapes on the cages. So cool.
