A fun park
So I visited this park solo. I would not recommend that as a woman, as there seem to be transient individuals at the park as well. It's well manicured and lots of nice statues. I would say the children's area is the best. It's gated off from the rest of the park. It has artificial turf and lots and lots of fun playground equipment. If I still had young children, I would take them there. There are small train tracks for a train that goes through that area. They also have the Kiwanis club in that area as well. A very nice stroll except for all the squirrels. There are older people who love to feed them peanuts so they are everywhere and run up to people, which can be unnerving and would cause your dog to go crazy or scare your child so strolling through the area might not be your cup of tea. I wouldn't have a picnic there due to all the people friendly squirrels in the area.

Great children's playground
I no longer have small children, so I'm no expert on playgrounds, but this one looked new and expensively equipped and appeared to have interesting activities for different ages. What attracted me to this park were the dozen or so bronze sculptures depicting children and animals. Across the street from one of the prettiest public libraries I've ever seen.

Lovely, Shaded, well maintained, beautiful park with plenty of parking and a great playground.
This is a beautiful park in the heart of Largo, and really central in Pinellas County. The grounds are well cared for, the plants, flowers and beautiful live oaks, and all manner of flowering tree are welcoming. There is a fountain, a fantastic shady playground. Plenty of shelters, picnic tables, benches. On the first weekend of the month there are train rides. Plenty of parking, and lots of fun activities planned by the city. This is one of our favorite parks!
