Fantastic event
I've been to this festival so many times, the latest time last year. I was in Northern Europe and actually made a detour to come and see friends as well as making a point to come here. It's an absolute riot of fun. Kotka is full of good-natured visitors, many of them who have been drinking all day long. There are so many stalls that it is impossible to count them all. There are beer tents by the dozens. The day has to be experienced to be believed. A few years ago they had a visit by a load of tall ships with sails. It was spectacular. There are also concerts by famous Finnish artists. In the evening, when everyone is leaving, there are huge queues on every road out of town made longer by the cops checking every car for drivers who might have been drinking. Be warned! I shan't be able to attend this year as my dates don't fit. I hope to be here next year though.
