The First national Museum in Nigeria
The images (statues) you see in this museum were discovered in 1775. The myth says that they were human beings before god turned them to statues because of their disobedience. The statues were found near a palm tree when a hunter (Baragbon) was sent in search of water for a new settlement for the people of Esie. This palm tree has been uprooted and a mango tree has been grown in its place. This museum has the statute of the god of small pox. There is an ifa bowl there for you to see. There is an hotel beside this museum and a Zoo at the back of the hotel.
