Rainy day
We chose family ticket as it worked out cheaper reconstructed building very well presented and interesting. There was an exhibition of clothing from the Victorian times which was suggested by the cashier thank you for that !It is the oldest castle in Latvia and well worth a visit for its history

Great collection of ships
If you like ships, you must come here. There are many different types of ships. Although I am not especially a fan of ships, I was impressed with the variety and number of ships. I was also impressed with the houses, even the one that was described as a poor fisherman's house seemed like a decent place to live. The highlight of the museum for me was the windmill that had an art exhibit inside. Three of the cows from the Ventspils Cow Parade were in front of the museum. The tourist office has a map with the location of all the cows in Ventspils. Some of them can easily be found walking around, but others are in locations that tourists might not happen upon so it is worth picking up the map.

serious but fun
when you hear museum you think of serious stuff! this one was in the nature, with games that anyone at any age could enjoy! you could even have fun in the "things" (ex. houses, boats etc.) that were exhibited there!! I had great time and the fun of my life with everything there!! Even with the trees in the park!! :D the most exciting it was the mill.. and of course the train that get you around the park and the small forest!
