Unable to see it - it was closed
Visited this place on Friday, 16 August (the peak of the tourist season, you would think?) at noon. The place was closed, with a handwritten note in Latvian saying "closed". I called the number posted at the entrance to check, and was told "yes, it is closed, sorry". So if you pass nearby, try your luck (it is well indicated from the main road Ventspils-Kolka), but don't expect it to be open (as this place is open or closed at random times, despite any schedule you may find).
