Road trip to TN
Small but nonetheless excellent museum on grounds of Univ. of TN at Knoxville. Particularly interesting, informative and well-executed were exhibits on the geological history of Tennessee and on primate evolution. One and one-half hours spent here will definitely prove worthwhile. Museum entry and parking were both free. Our grandson (19 years old) and his girlfriend seemed to enjoy this museum as much as did my wife and I.

Small museum on UT Knoxvilles campus...
Small museum on UT Knoxvilles campus. They always have interesting exhibits. Well thought out and always well designed. Great for both kids and adults alike. The only problem is parking during the regular semester. You have to stop and get a parking permit (which is free) as you enter circle park. But I belive you can ask for a museum permit which will give you more time.
