The 8 inch Self-Propelled Howitzer
The 8 inch Self-Propelled Howitzer was the key factor for Taiwan Army to hang in during the very famous 823 war (bombardment of Kinmen by (People’s Republic of China) forces that started August 23rd 1958, also called second Taiwan strait crisis). It can carry atomic warhead if necessary. The Kinmen county government was able to keep this one for sightseeing to attract tourists. It also has a show to launch the The 8 inch Self-Propelled Howitzer. It’s a must visit spot and a must see show in Kinmen.

Civil War History
This is a must-stop for any enthusiast of Chinese or military history. You can walk through the network of tunnels through the mountain and see artillery equipment from the civil war period, including plenty of American-made equipment that was sent to the ROC military. Be sure to watch the reenactment of the heavy artillery firing, and then take photographs with the reenactors.

Astonishing!
It was very interesting to watch these "soldiers" (they actually were civilians working for local government) put up a show-from "preparation" to "fire" the gun. During 823 Battle, tremendous power of the 8-inch cannon successfully suppressed PLA who declared "cease fire" afterwards.(in fact, it was "firing" at odd days and "ceasing" at even days).
