    Amazing History
This is a very well presented museum located within walking distance from the Yodoyabashi Sta.(exit No.1) of Subway Midosuji line, with a lot of history. Some of the ceramics date back before Christ! It is amazing to think that such detailed work could be performed so many years ago. If you are interested in china and ceramics this is worth a visit.

    I thought I'd be bored
We visited the Museum of Oriental Ceramics, because my friend was keen. I was ready to suffer, but was pleasantly surprised. The museum is set up in such a way as to take you through a specific route, with each exhibition case numbered in order, and to educate you about the ceramics in each display before you you look at them. Most items have English descriptions, and I came away with a new understanding and appreciation of the different styles, periods and materials that make up ceramics. There are some really beautiful pieces, and others that are really interesting. Important cultural assets are highlighted. The Museum is purpose built and the display cases are fascinating because they are earthquake proof, and the lighting is designed to maximise particular exhibits (so changing from room to room). The museum takes advantage of its scenic location by the river, with rest areas overlooking the water. There is beautiful music piped through the building, adding to the whole tranquil atmosphere. The museum is just the right size for a relaxed visit. There are coin lockers (100 yen, which is returned at the end), a museum shop and a restaurant. It is a 30 second walk from Naniwabashi Station. We used our Osaka unlimited 2 day pass (2700 yen for attractions, subway and buses - but not the subway line that Naniwabashi Station is on). This is a special museum and well worth a visit.
