Alexandre Yersin Museum, Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam

Small but informative museum

The museum is small but informative about the truly amazing man, and even more special to Vietnam and Nha Trang. I read some books about him before but still learned more about what he did in his entire life in many fields in this museum. Very worth a visit. We spent about 1 hour here. You should note the opening times of the museum if you plan to visit as it does not open whole day/week.

    Interesting museum
We had the pleasure of exploring this little museum in February 2020 (just before covid struck). I had not heard of Alexandre Yersin before my visit - but had heard of Yersinia pestis, the bacterium involved in the plague. I found it fascinating to learn more about this interesting man and see his photos of Vietnam in the 1890s and early 1900s. Definitely worth an hour or 2 of your time in Nha Trang.

Interesting way to pass a wet afternoon or escape the heat
Not a very large museum but did give an interesting insight into the life of the man, and some fundamental education on virology and mechanisms of disease transfer. We enjoyed it but it may not be for everyone. Not much for small kids. Don't get confused where to go, as this is still on the site of an active Clinic giving out shots!
