Beautiful Facilities in a Scenic Area
We were taking a scenic drive in the Texas Hill Country on TX16 and this city park made a great rest stop along the way. We enjoyed a stroll on the paved trail on the bank of the Guadalupe River to stretch our legs. It's a wide, level path about 4 miles long with shade from large trees. We saw squirrels scampering about and several types of waterfowl. The park facilities look new and are in good condition, including parking, picnic tables and pavilion, restrooms, playground, benches, volleyball courts, and a plaza with "dancing" water fountain. Wheelchair access is very good and admission is free.

The island is the best part here.
This is a really nice park - playground for the kids, water feature for the kids (or anyone) and nice hiking path (concrete) that continues beyond the park a few miles either direction. My wife and I love to walk on Tranquility Island - aptly named. Families can swim in the river near the dam, picnic and grill outside as well as a really nice dog park for the pets. Great park with lots of things to enjoy. Best park in Kerrville.
