Interesting multi-tiered museum
The City Museum is the landmark that dominates this spacious, pretty square. When I arrived it was bucketing it down with rain. This provided a good window to escape the wet weather and is well worth seeing. This is a multi-tiered museum with a basement, first floor to visit and Tower to scale to get a fairly good view of the Square from above. The basement used to be a prison and houses some interesting artifacts, the first floor has multiple rooms of interest,The white Room/Main Hall is especially impressive.I was lucky enough to be the only person in the room at the time,so I got some great pictures here. I also enjoyed my visit to the top of the Tower. You only get a view from a few smallish windows, but still worth the climb. You can also to get to admire the Clock in the Clock Tower up close. I also got in for free as on this particular special day -museum were free of charge in Kaunas. I then take a guided tour, just explored the museum on my own.
