Interesting Museum of Ethnic Culture
The museum is in the oldest house of Vilkija, ex presbytery. The museum was created by culture professionals initiative, exhibits of museum are original and interesting. Museum organizes also cultural events. To be sure about opening hours better to ask in advance.

A Hidden Gem - Ethnic culture exhibits, textiles, music; Lithuanian and Jewish
Arrange a visit in advance. The curators are exceedingly gracious and helpful. In addition to a central concern with Lithuanian ethnic material (artifacts, song, and language), they are devoted to preservation of Jewish lore (one of them carved a monument to the old Synagogue and preserved books and photographs). We were treated to a detailed story of Jonas Juska, and his brother, Antanas (1819-1880) a Catholic priest, who preserved Lithuanian language and folk song. She sang two of the songs and told the story of how he discovered and preserved 7,000 ethnic Lithuanian songs and compiled a dictionary of 70,000 Lithuanian words during Czarist control when the study of Lithuanian was forbidden. The story has a fascinating surprise ending, which I won't spoil. Bring a translator, it is all in Lithuanian.
