Go When Wind and Swells are Higher
We visited spouting horn while on a van tour, and I was surprised to hear it is one of the 2 most popular attractions on the island. But it's completely free, so that kind of makes sense. It's impressive to see and hear, and you don't have to wait long. It happens with every wave that comes in. We actually saw it twice. The 2nd time while coming back from a garden tour, when some back weather was starting to kick up. Got to admit.....it was much more impressive in bad weather when the wind & swells were larger.

Mesmerizing and Fun Spouting Horn
This is a great natural phenomenon AND it’s close to shore so you get a pretty close up view! It’s within walking / biking distance or a very short drive from hotels and shops in Poipu. Maybe it’s not as spectacular as Old Faithful in Yellowstone - but it’s still amazing and you can be mesmerized watching the waves crash into the volcanic rock and spout way up high!
