A modern museum in a heritage building
Dating back to 1939, it was originally the Kaohsiung City Hall during the Japanese colonial period. After Restoration of Taiwan (1945), it was used as the office of Kaohsiung Municipal Government. It was then turned into the Kaohsiung Museum of History since 1998. This is a Japanese-Western eclectic style building. The exterior is painted in elegant light green and light yellow. It has been approved as a Kaohsiung City Historic Heritage. Inside the building is a modern museum. There are collections and exhibitions of materials and relics of Kaohsiung's natural history and social, cultural and political development. Free admission.

Only in Chinese
The exhibits looked nice and I'm sure they are interesting but everything was in Chinese so I left after five minutes. It was free of charge though so If you can read Chinese then I think you should go and visit the place.
